Volunteering with PMI: M.O.R.E. In Action
I was selected as a PMI volunteer for M.O.R.E. In Action, PMI's programme on mindset, outlook, resilience and engagement.
Earlier this year I was selected as a volunteer with the Project Management Institute for M.O.R.E. In Action – PMI's programme on mindset, outlook, resilience and engagement – and contributed my own story to it between 4 and 18 March 2026. PMI issued a Certificate of Volunteer Service for the contribution.
Writing it was harder than I expected. The brief was not asking for a case study with a clean outcome; it was asking what you actually did when a programme went sideways and the answer was not in any framework. Most of my useful lessons are in that category, and almost none of them make me look good in the first act.
PMI has since told contributors that they are no longer recording the interview videos as originally planned, because the project's goal shifted, but that they intend to use parts of the submissions inside their content. So the honest status is: the contribution is made and acknowledged, and where it lands is PMI's call.
